I love wearing the Jean style, Amanda, by Gloria Vanderbilt (the original classic rise. Tapered-leg Jean). They typically fit very well and hold up well. My experience has been that they do not shrink, if not over dried.
I ordered size 8 short for two pairs. Just got them this morning. One pair fit great! The other pair is too long & too large (1-1/2 “ in length, 1” in waist). After looking them over, the black pair is tagged incorrectly…, Size 8 short is on the cardboard tag, but the sewn-in tag is marked Size 8. I really believe this pair may actually be a Size10.
I was not given an option to send this black pair back for replacement, which I would have liked to do, so I will reorder. Looking forward to a new black pair of jeans soon!!

I had purchased these jeans at my local department store and now I can no longer get them - I don't know what happened. I am thrilled that these jeans were exactly I had hoped! I checked the sizing and inseam, but was still worried about the length. I also don't trust the color names as they aren't meaninful to me and I was worried they may not appear as shown. I love this light blue color and it is not easy to find in jeans, anymore. I am 5’4” and the pants are too long. I will have to cut and hem them. These are less than half the cost of Wrangler and good quality denim. They fit true to size. They have a slight stretch but these are real denim jeans. If you want leggings, then wear leggings. If you want jeans, then wear jeans. Jeggings are for 12 year olds and the perpetually confused. I feel sad when I see grown women stuffing themselves like sausages in "stretch denim". Then, when the stretched to the max fabric disintegrates, they leave horrible reviews and actually post pics of the "inferior" product. Those poor pants deserve a commendation.

I bought these pants hoping they would fit since buying pants without trying on first is always a gamble. I had purchased these pants a few years ago and liked them then, but my body has changed a lot since then so I wasn't sure if they would still work. For those ladies where your weight is in the middle , these pants are perfect. I always struggle with the balance between the leg part versus the body part of jeans and these worked very well. The fabric is softer than I remember also. There is some stretch in it but not enough that the pant feels baggy after a few hours wear. I will definitely be adding another pair to my wardrobe.

Yes this color is described as a washed jean but that still should appear like the photo and not have areas rubbed lighter colored such as the knees. If so then the photo needs to show this in the thumbnails here on Amazons sale page when you select this color. IT DOES NOT. So it lost a star for that and I feel like making it two to three stars down really. However I needed new jeans as I am on my last new package of my favorite pairs no longer made and wanted a true dark shade. I have lighter blues that are fine for my daily casual wear but now and again when I feel like being a bit more dressed up or casual dressed up I like the dark or black jeans. So I ordered this color because Portland color was out even though even today it still shows you can select my size but when you do your told it is out of stock. I would now be afraid to order the Portland too for fear it too would come with pre scrubbed washed out knees. I prefer to wear my darker jeans in by myself and buy the lighter blues where I am less fussy but even those I do not want pre-rubbed lighter spots that can literally damage the jeans and cause them to wear out much faster than I would myself do it.
For size a P length fits best in length these are short and in some brands that is just fine but in these they are still fallng below my instep so I either have to roll them up a bit or hem them shorter. It's the reason I buy the short or petite so I don't have to. I also ordered a pair of black in the petite but only because they did not come in the short and today they don't have the petite size I ordered either in black. I am not sure when Amazon and seller will get a good update on color and size selection but dang this is annoying because almost none are available in most of the common sizes regular or short or petite. I will buy a regular length and just hem too if that was even available. So I've been buying this brand via Costco for years now however the last time I bought two pairs from Costco last fall they did not fit and had to be returned. This is a big problem because we live 100 miles from Costco or 200 mile round trip so it's not like we go often. Meantime I was shocked they did not fit as it was my regular size and same size I ordered here and Costco's did not fit. Also my last two pairs of Gloria's did not wear well while I have a pair now over 5 years old of her's that are still almost like new and comfortable and worn a lot so quality in materials used and size variations in one size as of late is just not reliable like it used to be. Gloria are you even listening? Right I know no one is. With Covid now hitting I thought I'd be able to pick up my basic jean needs with this order and going off the thumbnail photos where there is no worn spots on the knees or lighter spots anywhere else shown or highlighted via photos provided with that color selection I ordered with fingers crossed they would fit. Fit was ok though could be a bit better but sometimes with most jeans you need to wear them a few times and wash a few times to find them fitting better. I suffer from chonic edema condition that changes my leg size but not usually size of jeans itself so a jean that hangs loose one day a week later could be much tighter so I am not a fan of the tight jeans and need some looser leg to them. But I do not want my jeans baggy by any means either. I just wish makers would stick with trusted materials and designs so you could feel secure in ordering the same style over the years. Brand, a design by the same name year to year in other words should continue to fit the same year to year in the same size and quality of material and workmanship also should be reliable from year to year. Cleary this line and brand is not.

I agree with some of the other reviewers of these Gloria Vanderbilt Women's Classic Amanda High Rise Tapered Jeans. I bought a pair in January 2022, and they were a perfect fit. The recent pair I just received a year later (January 2023) fit differently. Still very nice, but baggier in the legs and wider at the bottom. I wouldn't consider them tapered. I like a straight-leg jean, and these are wider than the older pair. They are a nice medium-weight denim and sit at the waist, which I like. I do wish I bought a second pair last year, after being so happy with the fit of the first pair.

I bought the Callisto 6S “flawless flex” Amanda jeans from Amazon and they are a bit too snug at the top and just slightly shorter. These looked like they might be more flattering in the picture. They are very plain straight leg jeans. I am 5’7 1/2”, about 220 lbs, full figured, and pear shaped. I ordered the 20 Plus. There is room for my big bottom, hips, and legs. They’re not really high waisted, like I prefer, and the waist is baggy on me but I will wear them with a belt. I might have fit 18 Plus, but I prefer a little looser fit denim jean so I can wear long underwear in cold climate Winters, and so they cover my belly. I measured a 20 Plus. They fit as expected for straight leg jeans. I love the variety of colors offered by the seller. I got the solid brown and a light blue denim for under $20/pair on sale, so I will keep them to match my shirts. If I had paid more for a medium blue (my go-to) I might return them for a more flattering style. I always order my correct size by measurement, so that is not the issue. I will NOT be ordering any more dark colors because my cat is cream colored and his fur sticks to the fabric. The solid colors (not blue jeans denim) have a tackier material, in the sense that lint and pet hair stick to it. The brown jeans I ordered are darker than shown online. I might try the washed black denim, but not the solids. I might purchase again on sale or layaway. I love the layaway option. I chose these for the low payment option and because they were on sale.

I'm not a huge reviewer when it comes to Amazon....or really anything that wants people to review whatever. That being said, I chose to review this pair of pants because I really think the difference between the description, their size chart, and standard sizing were incredibly misleading (I wear a 2X on the regular). When I first put them on, I knew I didn't like them just because they didn't complement my shape at all. In fact they made my shape look a lot worse. But hey, when you're a 2X, you find that sacrifices have to be made as far as the 'perfect fit' for our shape since a 2X sized woman can have hundreds of unique 'shapes' popping out from everywhere. So just getting them on, over my hips that are the size of Nebraska, getting them over the precipice of my dome-shaped bottom enough to reach my waistline (I do actually have one; it just isn't where it's suppose to be - I'm very high-waisted), and realizing that I wasn't going to have to lay down or hang from a ceiling to get them closed and zipped were are very good things simply 'cause that doesn't work out with me and clothes very much. However, after wearing them for an hour or so and going about my business, - sitting, standing, crouching, walking - they stretched so much that I didn't even have to tug to take them off. I just had to unbutton the top and pull the zipper maybe 1/2 an inch and they just fell to the floor. I've even tried to intentionally shrink them as that was one of the 'warnings' about garment per its cleaning instructions. No dice. The still sucked after that little experiment. So ladies with big and bossy curves, hedge your bets. If it were me, I wouldn't even consider buying from that seller again. But I'm a bit of a jerk, and that explains a lot. I give the pants a score of 3 out of 10, 10 being some sort of fabric created in the future that actually, legitimately helps us curvy girls flaunt what we have plenty of and marginalize what we would go great distances to conceal. Still waiting.....

I bought two pairs of the Amanda jeans; colors Black and Callisto. They both fit great,are comfortable, and look amazing.
But the Callisto jeans STINK. I do have a sensitive nose; but still after washing four times with every deodorizer I own, they stubbornly omit an oppressive stench similar to mildew. I believe it’s the dye they used for the jeans because it’s not a localized smell and they look immaculate. Also, the Black don’t smell at all.
If I can get the odor out, my review will be five starts.

I did the try before you buy to make sure the pants would fit comfortably and at first they fit perfectly. But let me give you a bit of background on my body. My weight fluctuates in the tummy, hips, and thighs. So right now I wear a 14, but I think my waist wants to jump to a 16 here soon. Anyhoo, let's get to my legs. I have extremely long legs for a woman who is only 5'7". If jeans fit loose in the hips I can get away with a 34" inseam. If they fit more snugly I need a 36" inseam so I don't appear like I'm waiting for a flood. Like I said when I first tried on the jeans they fit great. I decided I would air dry them to keep their length. Well mistakes happen and they ended up in the dryer. Oh boy. They still fit great in the hips and tummy, but by golly I have serious high-water issues going on now.
And another dilemma is the fact I just purchased these jeans about a month or so ago and the inner thigh area is already looking worn. I get it I have thigh rub, but most of my jeans give me 6 months to a year before the evidence appears. All in all the jeans are comfortable, but be cautious if you put them in the
dryer especially if you have long legs like mine.

To help your assessment, I am 5’5”, 245lbs, 60 years old. I wear a size 18 in lee jeans but their waistline doesn’t go high enough to make me feel tucked in. I bought these because they were one of the few high waist size 18 jeans I could find with good reviews. They fit good on the waist but they dip down and gap in the back. I don’t tuck in my tops so I will keep them but I won’t buy them again. The length is almost perfect but another inch would have allowed me to wear my western boots as well as sneakers and flats. I am wearing them to work today but I’m afraid as the day goes on they may stretch out. Since the waist already gaps, if they stretch more these will become weekend wear and it’s back to the drawing board to find a high waist, well fitting size 18 jean. EDIT: as feared, within an hour the denim was stretched out so much I spent the day pulling them up and didn’t even need to unbutton them to take them off. Washing them didn’t help so I’m donating them to goodwill.

Nice jeans, fit well, are comfy for wearing for many hours, I wore them on a long-haul trip of around 36 hours. Pockets are nice and deep enough to hold my phone and kindle without stretching too much. They also wash and dry well.
My only complaint is for the price I paid I expected them to last a lot longer than one year. Yeah, about 9/10 months of wear and the material was starting to wear thin, not just in hot spots but all over, and by about a year I was seeing small holes where it was thinned out the most. I only wore these jeans to work or shopping so most times for less than 5 hours at a time. As much as I love these jeans, I won't be buying them again because they don't last long enough for the price.

I’m going to try to make this review as short as possible. Before ordering all 5 jeans (pictures 1-3) from this same page, I ordered one pair first to make sure the jeans fit. The jeans I ordered first are the darker jeans on picture #1.
PICTURE #1 - In the first photo you’ll see two denim jeans, one light denim and one dark denim. Notice how both jeans have different tags on them: the light denim has a purple tag whereas the dark denim has a white tag. The white tag says, “AMANDA THE ORIGINAL SLIMMING JEAN” while the purple tag says, “AMANDA THE ORIGINAL DESIGNER JEAN”. So we can clearly see that they are NOT the same style jeans. Again, the dark denim jean fit me perfectly!
PICTURE #2 - I ordered these other jeans, along with the light denim jean in picture 1, after trying on the the first pair. None of the jeans fit and they are all the size. The only difference is that some are Regular instead of Long but that shouldn’t matter because that has to do with the length. If one size 14 fits, all size 14s should fit.
PICTURE #3 - this is another dark denim jean that I ordered. This is a different jean from the dark denim jean in picture 1. This jean is size 14 long just like the dark jean on picture 1 and it also fits perfectly!
PICTURE #4 - all of the jeans (light denim, dark denim, black) are the same style; the light denim is size 14 Regular (this one doesn’t fit); the black jeans and the dark denim jeans are both 14 long, the SAME SIZE but the black one doesn’t fit whereas the dark denim does fit.
Just keep that in mind when ordering. Not all size 14s will fit the same and you will not receive the exact same jeans. I received two different kinds: the “AMANDA THE ORIGINAL SLIMMING JEAN” and the “AMANDA THE ORIGINAL DESIGNER JEAN”.
NOT THE SAME JEANS!
So remember, you can order 5 pairs of jeans the same size but most likely all of them won’t fit the same!

These 98% Cotton, 2% Spandex imported jeans have the usual zipper closure, are supposed to sit at natural waist, have functional pockets, belt loops, are machine wash and dry. They are supposed to have a 31 inch average inseam, 29 inch short inseam and 33 inch long inseam with a 15 inch leg opening. In ordering these jeans, I was told that “Fit: As Expected.” Also that “ Based on purchases by customers who wear your size, 10 will fit you best.” Nevertheless, the jeans were too small. And despite being “Short Petite,” they were way too long. Had they actually fit me, I would have had to have them drastically shortened. And I have previously found that These Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans seem to fit me best. But not these.

I am 5'4 and wear a 16w in jeans=average length. This brand is my "go to brand" jeans. It's basically the only brand I wear. They normally fit perfectly. I like for the length to touch the floor but not bunch up. This leaves a little room for shrinkage, and over time they do shrink a little bit. This pair is just too short for me. There is NO room for shrinkage. They sit right about my ankles. I have ordered many pair before with no complaints. I just cant do flood britches.

I have ordered these jeans twice from this same vendor. Same size, same requested color: Callisto. Both times I was sent the wrong color, despite it being labeled "Callisto". The jeans fit perfectly, they are the most comfortable jeans I have ever worn, but they consistently send the color "Frisco" instead of "Callisto". What is strange is that the labels attached to the jeans say "Callisto" but are obviously much, much darker than they should be. I've been told that since they are labeled the requested color, I have no reason to return them.
Just to clarify, Callisto is a very, very pale blue, almost white they are so pale. The color jeans I have been sent are closest to "Frisco" which is a medium blue. I haven't returned them because, well getting good jeans that you love for $15 a pair is a no-brainer.
So, the rating isn't for the jeans exactly, but because your supply of Frisco jeans are mislabeled Callisto. I'm sure I'm not the only customer having this experience, so how about you correct your mistake so I and many other customers can have the jeans we've ordered? I won't be ordering from this vender again because I really want a pair of Callisto colored

I thought I could wash the smell out, but it seems to be very stubborn after two washes. I don’t know if these will ever be wearable. Sizes and materials appear to be inconsistent among the various colors. Buyer beware and be prepared, don't make assumptions and order at the last minute before you need these pants.

I normally love my GV jeans, specifically the Amanda jean. I have several pair. I bought these (a second pair) because they are called Tapered. I returned the first pair hoping this pair would actually be "tapered" But the leg is even bigger than the last pair. They are no where near tapered. They are straight legged. The leg opening is almost 16 inches wide. Most of my other GV Amandas are around 13-14. Returning.
There must be something between this and the skin tight skinny jeans.

I have purchased these Gloria Vanderbuilt style jeans for the past 15 years and size 14 always fit perfect, these needed 3” more to be able to zip up. I thought that these were perfect--at first sight. Then, something was wrong with the back and only the back of the pant legs. Extra fabric back there, so much so, that they billowed and flopped around at the touch. I've never seen anything like it. Being proficient in sewing women's clothes I believe that the pant leg backs were cut incorrectly or sized with a model having uniquely large thigh backs. Wondering if this particular batch of pants are rejects being passed-off as true to size.

It’s so strange, because all the tags were on the jeans, but as soon as I opened up that plastic, they smelled of mold and mildew so bad, and I’m not exaggerating. I washed them with downy unstoppable’s and dried them, my dryer stinks now of mold, so I’m washing them for now a third time. I don’t get it. There was a label that was stuck on the plastic that said they were from Jordan.

I still haven’t taken off some of the weight I put on during the time I was in quarantine for Covid. Therefore, I ordered an 18 short recently because the pair of 16 short jeans hanging in my closet wouldn’t zip up??.
These new, size 18 Amanda jeans, were as tight as the Amanda 16s had been. I finally stopped trying to make those new jeans fit and laid out both pair of jeans on my bed. The 18s, when laid on top of the 16s, were EXACTLY THE SAME! The waist, the amount of material around the thighs and the depth of the inseam WERE IDENTICAL!!
Now I know I need to work on losing those last 10 pounds,, but is there any explanation as to why the pants looked identical when lying on my bed and were as tight around the waist as the 16s were…even tho they were labeled “18 short”.
Is there anyone reading these comments? Can you give me an answer?

These jeans are made very very weird. Even though they fit properly around the waist, they’re very baggy in the back and legs area. They are not true to size at all. I tried a smaller size and same issue. I also tried contacting amazon support and there’s no option for return unless you can print a label or drive to whatever place they want you to go. Absolute ripoff and waste of money and time!!!! If you’re thinking about buying this junk I strongly suggest you don’t.
